Selected Works 2020-2025
Of All Possible Worlds
2024 -
This series of large-scale paintings were inspired by the same environments that gave rise to the Hudson River School of the mid-19th century.
Michelangelo Antonioni's 1966 film, Blowup, also inspired the process of enlarging source material photographs to the point of abstraction, in search of those fleeting moments of tension and danger one feels (at times), while staring into the natural void.

Remote
2023 - 2024
Inspired by my own experience working remotely during and after the COVID pandemic, these (maybe) self-portraits attempt to capture the disorienting melding of our personal and public personas and the dichotomy of feeling at once isolated and exposed.
The nine portraits depict life-sized masks as the central subject, (rather than individuals wearing masks), that are in the process of subsuming the blurred heads on which they rest.
After the Fires and Exhalations
2021 - 2022
In this series of black-and-white paintings inspired by the continued devastation in Gaza, I invite viewers to interpret them as representations of satellite imagery depicting bombed or burned cities, or as bird's-eye views of excavated ruins.
The paintings contemplate the tangible impact of conflict and how the ongoing history of shame, hatred, and loss connects the present with the past.
Embers Pt. 1 (Selection)
2020 - 2022
This series of 75 drawings reflects themes of fear-mongering, immigration, and white Christian nationalism. It explores the power of propaganda to both unite and divide social landscapes through emotional manipulation.
Each drawing, or vignette, is inspired by collected scraps of language, overheard phrases, and moments of visual inspiration. They can be paired together to create stories that are equally capable of being meaningless or offering profound meaning.
