When the Human Face Becomes the Mask and Refuses To Lift (2023-2024)
Inspired by my own experience working remotely during and after the COVID pandemic, these (maybe) self-portraits attempt to capture the disorienting melding of our personal and public personas and the dichotomy of feeling at once isolated and exposed.
These nine portraits depict life-sized masks in the process of subsuming the blurred heads on which they rest, were inspired by my experience working remotely via Zoom video
Each: Water-based latex paint on wood, 12 x 16”
